Ezra 3:6-13 | Anxiety and God's Goodness

How can we respond when anxiety refuses to go away? In Ezra 3:6–13, God’s people are rebuilding the temple while living with fear, disappointment, and uncertainty. Their experience offers three practical responses to anxiety: recall God’s past provision, sing about His goodness, and honestly admit how much life hurts. Remembering God’s faithfulness redirects our minds from fearful predictions about the future to what He has already done. Singing helps biblical truth reach our emotions and draws us out of isolation into worship with others. And when pain remains, we do not have to hide it. Like the Israelites who praised God while others openly wept, Christians can trust God’s goodness while honestly acknowledging their sorrow.
