Revelation 3:1-6 | Sardis: Those Who Conquer

Jul 27, 2025  •  Rick Hardison

What does it mean for a Christian to “conquer”? In Revelation 3:1–6, Jesus’ words to the church in Sardis challenge our assumptions about spiritual victory. Conquering isn’t about power, popularity, or earthly success—it means persevering in faith and good works, resisting sin and Satan, and continuing to follow Christ to the end. Sardis had a reputation for being alive, but Jesus warned that appearances could hide spiritual deadness. This message calls believers to wake up, examine their faith, and keep going. Because Christ has conquered and lives in His people, Christians can face temptation, suffering, and opposition with confidence that He not only forgives His people but also transforms them.
