Revelation 3:7-13 | Philadelphia: A Pleasing and Puny People
What makes a church significant in the eyes of Jesus? In Revelation 3:7–13, Jesus speaks to the church in Philadelphia—a congregation with “little power” that nevertheless remained faithful to His name. This message explores three encouraging truths about these believers: they were God’s people, they were pleasing to God, and they were seemingly puny in the eyes of the world. Though they lacked numbers, influence, and recognition, Jesus saw and valued their patient endurance. Their example reminds us that faithfulness does not have to be impressive to be significant. God delights in the imperfect obedience of His people, sees the ministry that others overlook, and promises that those who seem insignificant today will one day stand as pillars in His kingdom.
