Matthew 4:17-22 | "Follow Me"
What gives our lives real direction, meaning, and purpose? In Matthew 4:17–22, Jesus approaches four ordinary fishermen with a simple but life-changing command: “Follow me.” This sermon explores what that invitation means for every person. Following Jesus is not primarily about obeying a list of rules or experiencing certain religious emotions; it is about orienting your entire life around a person. His call extends to everyone—including good, hardworking people—and demands complete allegiance, even when following Him brings financial, relational, or personal costs. Yet Jesus offers something far greater in return: a life of belonging, purpose, and eternal significance. He calls us out of judgment and into life, then invites us to join His mission of bringing that same hope to others.
